I am doing a third BOM from Block Central which is called Nine Patch Nirvana.

January 2006 Block called Ask and Answer

February 2006 Block called Something Borrowed

March 2006 Block called Four Score

Southwest Stars

I am doing another Block of the Month (BOM) from Nancy Rink called Southwest Stars. The March Block here is called Carina and is the first block of the series. This is a southwest color scheme and it was fun picking out the fabric for this.

Another One I Am Working On

This is another quilt I am piecing. The area that looks black in the photo is really a dark blue.

Got It Cut

I got the fabric cut for the Almost Amish quilt. It is more of a wall hanging or maybe lap quilt. I am not sure what I will do with it when it is done but I have a couple of ideas.

This is the pattern I am using.

Here is a redo of the photo of the fabric. I think it shows the colors a bit better. I am using the light blue instead of the tourquise in the pattern and my shop did not have the right colore the day I was getting the fabric. Now to get use to the camera and what settings I need to get the colors right of the fabric.

Now to just get rid of this virus I have that has been really draining me of energy, etc. I have so much to catch up on other than working on quilts.

Oops!

I thought I had this set so anyone could comment, but I did not. I have changed that now. Sorry for any inconvenience.

My Next Project

My next project will be an Almost Amish Stars with this fabric. Now I need to get cutting.

Sunset Quilt is Finished!

I have finished the Sunset Quilt. It is the Thimbleberries 2005 Club which measures 60 inches square. It feels so good to complete a quilt. I think the woman who does the machine quilter does a wonderful job. I look at what I have made and am surprised at what I have done. Now to figure out where to hang it!

Update on 9 Patch

Pat called from the quilt shop and I am going to have to change the fabric for the back. We decided on one over the phone (one that is used in the quilt). They will get off to the quilter tomorrow now. I am so excited!

Am working on the binding for the Sunset. When it is done, I will take a photo and post it here.

Sunset Quilt

Well, I goofed. It was really the Sunset Quilt that was ready. Got it trimmed and now I need to put the binding on it.

Guess the fabric for the back of the 9 Patch has not arrived yet. Pat is going to check on it. Probably will have to pick a different fabric for it.

Sunrise should be done soon also. Having projects to work on while watching those t.v. shows I watch will be great.

Quilt Ready

I was away all last week so did not get anything done. I did have a message from the Quilt Shop that my Garden Nine Patch is ready to be picked up. Hurray!! Will pick it up Monday, trim it, sew binding on (the side that I sew on by machine) and then finish it. On these cold nights, sewing on binding is nice and cozy.

The Sunset Quilt should be ready this week also.

After I get caught up around here, back to piecing the Christmas one I am working on. I also purchased a couple of patterns while away. Now to find the right fabric to use.

Sunrise Quilt

This is the quilt top for the Thimbleberries Club 2005 Block of the Month. The blocks made two smaller items. This can be used as a lap quilt or wall hanging. It measures 62 by 76 inches. It will go to the quilter the next time I go to town.

There is a row of the blue floral around the outside that I did not get in this photo.

This is the center of the quilt with the 6 blocks.

This was a fun one to piece. Lots of different things to do for each block. It is not as hard as it looks, really it isn't.

Hawaiian

I purchased four fat quarters when in Hawaii last winter. I did not know what to do with them. I decided to make a four block item to hang on the wall or to use on a table. I made two. One larger and one smaller one. I plan on hand quilting these.

These are a couple of photos of the "Garden Nine Patch" taken before I took it to the quilter. I will post a picture when I get it back and get the binding on.

About This Blog

I have decided to add another blog to post about my quilt projects. I have been working on some quilt projects lately. Many of these, I have had the fabric and instructions laying around for a year or more.

I recently pieced the top of one called "Garden Nine Patch" in lavendar, beige and dark purple. It is at the machine quilter's now. it is 85 by 102 inches.

Next I did the Thimbleberries Club 2005 Block of the Month. Two small quilts were to be made. I finished the one called "Sunset" and took it in to be quilted. I just finished piecing the one called "Sunrise" today. I will take this to the quilter on Monday.

I had purchased some fat quarters in Hawaii a year ago. I have cut them to make four 12 inch squares. I put white between the squares and around the edge. I also made a smaller one that is 9 inch squares. I am undecided on the quilting of these two. I may hand quilt around the flowers on these.

Next I am going to work on a Christmas one that I have laying around. After that, I may finish the 2004 Thimbleberries Club. This was a hard one to begin quilting so I put it away for awhile until I could get more practice.

Will post photos after I get them back and have put the binding on them.
