On Blockcentral, we had a gift exchange. Jacquie from Indiana had my name and I had her name. This was a random name draw so it was funny that we got each other!
The gifts, the fleese blanket is nice and warm on these cold days and nights.
A closeup of the accessories bag, tea and the neat fat quarters.
I haave not put my gift in the mail yet as it was not finished before I broke my wrist last week. I am planning on sending part this week and then the made by me item after the first of the year when I can sew again.

Table Runner and Placemat Swap
This is the table runner and placemat that I made for Connie in the Block Central swap. I enjoyed making this. I am making another set for the St. Luke's Ladies Aid Silent Auction.
Next up is the item for the Block Central Christmas gift exchange as well as one for the Ladie's Aid Prayer Partner Christmas gift. I am making the same thing. I need to purchase some more batting as well as fabric for the back.

Getting Busy!!
Well, I am getting busy on the quilting projects. I have a swap that I need to get finished and in the mail this week. A bazaar I was making something for is this weekend and I hope I can get something finished for that. Next week is another one and I should have the ones ready for that. Then I have a Christmas gift exchange and my Prayer Partner for AID to get a couple of projects done.
I really need to get my BOM's going again. A couple of them are done with the blocks this month so it will be exciting to finish those up. I am wondering what next year's BOM's will be.
Happy Quilting!!!

Snow!!
Well, we saw our first snow today. Can you believe it? October 11 we have snow. Not much. Flurries in the afternoon and then this evening a tad bit more. You could see some on hoods of cars but that is about the only place you could see it. It was not measurable by any means but yet it was still there. Guess we shall have another day of cold temps and then warmer again.

It's About Time!!
The summer has been very crazy along with the fact that Daniel was home for two months. I have finally moved my quilting stuff back into his room. It is my plan to get some Christmas stuff put together this week and off to be quilted. That is two items for bazaars, two Christmas Swaps and another gift.
Then it will be back to work on the Block of the Month projects. I printed off all of the directions today. I have August, September and October to do on all of them. Let's see, that is a total of 15 blocks. I should have these all finished by the end of the month. When I get all caught up, then I can work on the 2003 BOM project I am working on.
The only thing I need to do is to keep that crazy cat of ours off of my stuff laid out on the bed! He seems to think that that is where he should sleep. Silly cat! I would post a picture of him here but since the fabric I have laid out is for the swaps, I will refrain from doing so as I don't want my swapee to see what I am doing.

My Blogs
I have been asked to switch to the beta version of blogspot so I thought I would do it. Well, when I leave a comment on another person's blog and they click on my name, this blog shows up in my profile. If you got here that way, my main blog is http://jmberg.blogspot.com I have contacted Blogger about this so will see if both blogs show up on My Profile.
This is my hobby and as you can see, I have not done much with it lately. I plan on getting back to sewing this weekend and I have lots to catch up on. I have two Christmas Swaps to finish or do, two Bazaars to make things for as well as my Block of the Month's.

2003? You say
Yep, it is the 2003 BOM I am doing. Got kidded about being behind. Actually, this is on a website I frequent and I loved it so decided to do it.
I have been out of town a lot lately so have not accomplished anything that has to do with quilting. Son has moved out and now I can get back into the room I use for sewing after doing some straightening up of things. I am going to be in and out of town a lot through the end of September so don't know how much I will get accomplished. I am working on some Christmas items for a swap and for a couple of fundraisers
I do miss sewing, but yet, things have been pretty busy.

The 2003 Sampler Block of the Month
February Block "An Envelope Motif"
March Block "Mrs. Keller's Choice"
I like the little florals I picked for this Block of the Month.
This catches me up to the photos I have right now. I do have one more that is finished, but no photo of at this time. My digital camera is in Europe with Andrew and I did not want to start a roll of film with just one or two photos on it so will take the last photo when my camera returns.

More Debbie Mumm Blocks
Here are three more of the Debbie Mumm Blocks. I am all caught up on these blocks. These are fairly easy to make. The light green color has washed out a little on the Block 4 photo. Still playing with the camera. I discovered settings I did not know were there so need to play around with those.

Block Central's 2003 Block of the Month
I am doing the Block Central 2003 BOM called Traditional Block Sampler. I have finished one block so far.
Block 1 - Hayes Corner
This one looks like it is going to be fun to do too. Ah, heck, they are all fun to do, Each one is different in style, design, color and fabric choices. I do have fun looking at a pattern and deciding what colors, then taking what is in my head and find the right fabric in the store.
Not sure what all I will sew this next week. I do have a Summer Memoris Swap item to make and to get everything ready for mailing at the time it is to be mailed. I won't post here what it is as the members of Block Central look at this blog so I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Won't be able to post a photo til late July. Oh well, I will have fun with it even though I can't share it now.

Very original names for the block. This BOM has reminded my why I don't do plaids! I have two more finished and one more to do to be caught up on these.

May & June Cinnamon Teen Blocks
This week I got the May and June Cinnamon Teen Blocks made. These are quite fun to make and are very easy to make.
May Block - Farming Windmill
June Block - Chocolate Windmill
The fabrics are the same, but for some reason the lighting must have been different! I atill have so much to learn about this camera.

Birthday Gift
A friend of mine, who is also a quilter, had her 60th birthday last week. As a surprise, I made this table topper for her. She really seemed to like it. I found fabric that had the squares with the Bible verses and I cut out some of the verses and put the green checked border around it and quilted it. It was fun to do.

Just stuff
I have not posted anything here is a long time. Have not done much quilting due to the fact I have been away a lot and that I lost "my" sewing room. I have used Daniel's room for my sewing room and since he moved home after graduation, I lost it for a while. I have finally set up something makeshift in the kitchen to work.
I have put together a table topper for a friend and I am finally binding the purple 9-patch. Will post a photo of the gift later as well as some neat fabric I got that Michelle really liked. Now to find a patter to use it in.

Quilt Shop Shopping
I was up to Milwaukee to visit my daughter. Son and Daughter hung out quite a bit. I did some shopping at quilt shops. I went to one in West Bend, Ye Ole Schoolhouse in Cedarburg, Fabric Fusion in Deerfeild and another one in Thiensville. Here are some photos of most of my purchases.
I fell in love with this fabric and decided to do another Nine Patch Nirvana from Block Central
I am doing one in browns, Cinnamon Teen, and the pattern called for 12 brown fabrics, 4 each of dark, medium and light. I decided to go with the three basic colors.
There is a Debbie Mumm Anniversary Block of the Month that is colorful and I thought I would make it also and found these colors for it.

Almost Amish Stars and Garden Nine Patch
Well, I got the Almost Amish one done and off to be quilted. This had a pieced border and I thought I would not add the lavender border. Well, this pieced border just was not turning out very well so I added the lavender border and this one helps camoflaug the errors.
When I took it in, my Garden Nine Patch was there to be picked up. Yeah!! Have not had a chance to trim it and get the binding going and probably won't until next week.
Now I need to do my Dandy Doodle April Block and get back to work on the Christmas one. I also bought the kit for the Sandy Gervais 76 Trombones.

Almost Amish Stars Center
I have finished the center portion of the Almost Amish Stars Quilt. Now I have 96 Flying Geese to make to piece the border. I hope to get this done sometime this week and off to the quilter. While putting this together, the dark blue squares looked really dark but with the purple added, it really changed the appearance of this. This center took time and I still did not get the squares right. It was a learning experience for me as are all of my piecing of quilts.

Southwest Stars April Block
I got the instructions for the April Block last night and put it together this afternoon. I struggled with the choosing of fabric for this one as well as the piecing of it. The more I look at it, the more I like it.
I have pieced 6 of the 9 blocks for the Almost Amish Stars. I hope to get the other three done this weekend. Once I get the sashing on it, I will post a photo. Then there is a border to piece for it using all the colors in the center of it. I am thinking I may take this one to my mother when it is all finished.
